Flexibility is essential for dancers because it increases their range of motion, allowing them to perform movements with greater fluidity and expression. Enhanced flexibility contributes to better lines and extensions, making movements appear more graceful and aesthetically pleasing. Additionally, it supports improved technique and control, enabling dancers to execute complex choreography with ease and precision. As you execute these exercises, make sure you slowly go into them, taking deep breaths to release tension in your muscles in order to stretch further. Work on both sides equally.
